Anonymous asked: “Hi! I'm an ftm transguy and I live in the south, and everyone dresses REALLY casual and its pretty much always tshirts and jeans here, I love to dress up but I always end up looking really bad and out of place. Advice? I need out of this tshirt rut!”
Button-ups. When I go home (small-town Texas), I ditch the ties and vests and embrace the classic oxford cloth button-up. They’re nicer than T-shirts, and they hide the chest better. Also, they’re a little bit more mature and dapper than plain T's.
Where I’m from in the South, most people either wear Wrangler Western shirts or Polo oxfords.
My mother also taught me way too long ago that linen is your best friend on those July nights. Linen can get you through those hottest Summer weddings and even into cooler autumn nights. (Linen now on sale at Uniqlo for $20!)
Everlane provides a modern version of the classic oxford.
And, if I had more money than sense, I would buy Supreme everything.
In conclusion, button-up shirts will make you look more mature, fashionable, and masculine.
