Spring is happening! Snow is melting, hearts and souls are reawakening, and the world is opening up again.
For me, this means I'm dusting off my bike and cutting my old jeans into shorts and cleaning my house and wardrobe. Here are some Chicago-inspired bike fashions:
These pants have so many brilliant bike-informed details — from the stretch fabric (which somehow still looks professional and holds its shape) to the reinforced stitching in the crotch. These are my go-to black pants.
Like a lot of fans of streetwear, I am drawn to military-inspired pieces and most of my staples and military — or Americana-inspired pieces. Recently, I've been eyeing flight jackets — yes, those puffy jackets with neon lining. Stop by your closest army surplus store and check out some army-inspired gear. (But, seriously, fuck war and the military industrial complex.)
I recently copped this crew from one of my favorite Chicago shops — Leaders 1354. Nike really turned out for this crew. It's a great technical piece — it keeps up with me on cold runs and keeps me warm when I'm hanging out with friends. This is going to be a go-to sweatshirt for seasons to come.
This bag is on sale (!!!) and has plenty of storage space for your daily needs and adventures. Chrome bags have a lifetime guarantee so go ahead and treat this one bad.
Get active! Here's pictures of my bike in the dead of winter — but more importantly, here's to wishing for a warmer spring.
