This month brings the world's first Queer Fashion Week to Oakland, presented by FiveTEN Oakland events and What Is Butch? Movement (www.whatisbutch.com). We are proudly sponsoring the week of vendor villages, parties, and fashion shows. Qwear will also be presenting our Dismantle Me line, alongside to 20 + designers and stylists and over 150 models.
This event is the first large scale event focused on fashion exclusively by queer designers. America's Next Top Model Finalist Cory Wade, one of the celebrity models walking in the event believes "that Queer Fashion Week could shake up the fashion world as a part of revolutionary change that's on the verge of reshaping fashion."
In the true spirit of community, Queer Fashion Week doesn't turn anyone away if they can't afford a ticket. They offer lots of fun volunteer opportunities in exchange for attending the events.

As Qwear's Founding Editor, Sonny’s work centers around envisioning a future in which the clothing people wear does not dictate their chances of survival. Sonny was awarded 2015 dapperQ of the Year and was the first trans blogger to be sponsored by Topman. In March 2016, Sonny spoke at South by South West's first official queer fashion panel.
