How To Wear: Colored Pants
We’re back again for another installment of How To Wear, the photo series aimed at providing style inspiration for everyday people.
In our third installment, the focus turns to our lower halves with our take on colorful pants. We put away our dark denim in favor of the bold and bright for this shoot and the results are extraordinary.
Anyone who knows me knows that I don't typically wear large amounts of color. I bought these pants for a specific purpose and have found that they're one of my favorites! I've stepped out of my comfort zone by wearing these regularly and I wouldn't change a thing.
Pair colorful pants with neutrals on top and highlight with accessories of the corresponding color. This makes for a well put-together look without being overwhelming.
With this outfit, since I chose a pair pants with multi colors I wanted to showcase one color so it didn't take away from the pants. By choosing a black shirt as a base I was able to use the yellow to give me more of a pop of color.
My tip for wearing colored pants is to choose a pair of pants that fits your style. If you are not sure what color shirt to rock with them, you can't go wrong with a solid neutral color like white, black, or navy.
I personally actually have a good amount of colorful pants so for this look I focused more on finding what I wanted to pair with the color I chose. Joggers are really versatile and I decided to stick with the theme of more earthy tones instead of the usual loud colors. The navy accent on the shirt and matching the shoes give just enough kick of color.
Colorful pants don't have to be loud or show stealing. If you aren't sure about wearing them, start with something subtle and work your way up from there. Use accessories and other similar colors to tie the whole look together.
