Our portion of the show will take place on the first floor of the ICA, where we will have a performance piece of 6 rotating models exploring various facets of femininity. To contrast the mainstream fashion world in which mostly gale male designers treat their female models like objects, the models themselves will be calling the shots. Every decision around wardrobe, clothing designs, stance, and make up, will be taken upon by the models themselves. Our Fashion Director Rupi will assume the role of the gay male designer in a submissive stance. Our models, who will span a wide range of identities and ages, will celebrate femininity as an equally legitimate form of queer expression while also showing the wide range of feminine queer expression.

dapperQ, a premier queer style website and fashion show production company, is returning for our second annual fashion presentation at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston. In the spirit of our New York Fashion Week show titled "iD," dapperQ has curated programming that celebrates rich, diverse, and bespoke LGBTQ identities as communicated through the art and visual activism of queer style. dapperQ will present two screenings (5:45pm and 7:45pm) of Suited, an HBO documentary produced by Lena Dunham (Girls) and Jenni Konner, and directed by Jason Benjamin. The film tells the story of Bindle & Keep, a Brooklyn tailoring company that makes custom suits for gender-nonconforming and transgender clients. After each screening, The Tailory New York will showcase looks from their latest collection, featuring bloggers Sara Geffrard of A Dapper Chick and Danielle Cooper of She's A Gent, followed by a short discussion about the power of gender-nonconforming style.
ICA will have multiple floors of additional fashion programming, including a presentation by Qwear, as well as DJ beats provided by the incredible Leah McFlight.
