Yesterday I got together with my queer fam Lexi, partner Rupi, our friends Alex and Olivia, and the amazing talented photographer Hannah Cohen for a Queer Valentines Day Shoot.
We had a fun afternoon queering up these photos, through gender performance and celebrating concepts of self-love, friend-love, and romantic love.
I'm truly embracing the self-love for Valentines Day, as I'm now fully healed from top surgery and in the right body. I've never been able to love myself more than I do now.
And YOU GUYS. You, Qwears, are just amazing. You blow me away with your #qwear style, your comments, your feedback. Just keep being you, my darlings!!
Now, a note from Lexi:
"The typical Valentine’s Day focuses on the love between a romantic pair. I wanted to focus this Valentine’s Day on all the other types of love we experience every day: the love between friends, roommates, and most importantly ourselves. I feel like these sometimes get ranked below romantic love. I hope that this Valentine’s Day shoot will help us celebrate all types of love. Dressing up for the shoot reminds me, in the words of the sage Justin Bieber, “If you like the way you look that much, oh baby you should go and love yourself.”
And Alex the poet:
Roses are red
Lemons are sour
If dapper was a minute
Qwear would be an hour
Happy Valentines Day Y'all!!
