We’ve admired her from afar, we’ve obsessed over her blazers and ties, we’ve asked her for pattern mixing tips and she changed our lives with those queer pomps. Bing of I Dream Of Dapper is kind of my fashion hero.
Let’s admit it, we have a bit of an internet crunch* on her. So I’m now officially adding her to Qwear’s team of style consultants so that she can contribute her take on “menswear” as a dapper cisgender queer lady. Bing says,
As a cisgender female I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve found myself looking through pages of a “womenswear” blog searching for a woman I can identify with. This idea of womenswear as skirts, dresses, flowing blouses, and heels does not encapsulate the self-expression of all women.
As women we are not constrained to this traditional idea of womenswear. We can be women in ties, women in button-ups, and women in dress shoes.
Clothing does not make an individual more of a man; it does not make them less of woman.
