Queer Fashion Brunch, New Orleans

My friend Rachel in New Orleans threw a queer fashion brunch! The talented eye behind the lens is photographer Melisa Cardona

When I visited New Orleans last year, I fell in love with the quirkiness, colorfulness, and melding of the cultures apparent in people’s clothes. It’s like a different country from Boston. I’m so glad I’m able showcase some of the liveliness in style on Qwear. Much of what makes these outfits shine is the people inside them. They are just changing the world with their smiles. But who wouldn’t be happy while eating all the vegan and gluten free food.

You can find more photos from the event on Qwear’s facebook page, and post any questions there if you are wondering about recipes, outfits, etc.

As Qwear's Founding Editor, Sonny’s work centers around envisioning a future in which the clothing people wear does not dictate their chances of survival. Sonny was awarded 2015 dapperQ of the Year and was the first trans blogger to be sponsored by Topman. In March 2016, Sonny spoke at South by South West's first official queer fashion panel.
