Anonymous asked: What are your thoughts on Brittney Griner getting signed to model 'menswear' for Nike?
I’m happy about it. The language confusion in articles shows how badly we need more models like her. The way reporters throw around terms like “androgynous,” “gender fluid,” and “gender neutral” show they don’t have a clear concept of her identity and how she differs from other gender conforming people. (Brittney Griner signs deal with Nike to model men’s clothing | ESPN Covershoot) They also lump her identity as a lesbian together with her gravitation towards men’s clothing. I’m excited to get her on the scene so that people outside the queer community can start putting more gender nonconforming folks on the map.
