Queer Palestinians

We are seeking queer Palestinians/ people of Palestinian descent who use style as a means of resistance to feature in an upcoming article. You are welcome to participate while not having your face in the photos and using an alias instead of your real name! If you would like to participate, please send 5 photos of your style, a short bio in 3rd person, and the answer to these questions to info@qwearfashion.com: 1. What have been some of the biggest challenges involved with being queer and Palestinian? 2. How has your queer Palestinian identity affected your style? 3. What is most rewarding about being queer and Palestinian? 4. Where in Palestine is your family from? Please also send your social media handles, and the name you would like us to use for the piece.

Trans Interiors

Qwear, in collaboration with Joel Sanders Architect, seeks people of trans experience for a new photo project: Trans Interiors, which explorers the connection between trans self expression and the homes they inhabit. We use the term "people of trans experience" broadly, to include those who are nonbinary, genderqueer, two spirit, etc; or anyone who is not cis. Chosen entries will be featured on Qwear and some applicants will be selected for a photo project to go on an exhibition. To apply, email info@qwearfashion.com with “Trans Interiors Application” in the subject line: Please include: Your Info: The name you'd like us to use on the internet, a bio in 3rd person, and links to your website/ social media Photos: Photos of yourself in your home that showcase both your style and your home’s interior aesthetic. Photos should include: One close up of you One full body shot One photo of you interacting in you environment (looking in the mirror, sitting at the coffee table, reading on the couch, etc) Shots highlighting the interior design of your space Questions: 1. How would you describe your fashion style? 2. How would you describe your taste in interior design? 3. Do you feel there is a connection between your fashion style and interior design style? 4. How have you used style to express your identity? 5. How have you used interior design to express your identity? 6. If someone walked into their house who didn’t know you, what do you think they’d learn about you? We are accepting entries through March 1, 2018.

Black History Month 2018

Calling all LGBTQIA+ Black voices around the Globe to help us celebrate Black History Month, the most epic month of the year! Send us your photos, essays, poems, interviews, reviews of Black own brands, personal pieces, and whatever else you want. Pieces should be related to style and expression. Style Profiles

To apply for a style profile, please send the following to submissions@qwearfashion.com:

1. 5 photos of 3 different outfits (15 photos total). Photos must include at least one full body shot. Please attach images as JPGs. If you don't have 15 photos, please apply anyway!
2. A list of what you are wearing in each outfit, from the top to the bottom of the outfit as such:
Item 1: Brand
Item 2: Brand
If you do not know the brand or it was homemade, just explain!
3. A name for each outfit (eg. Date Night, Lazy Saturday)
4. The answer to these questions:
Where did you grow up & where do you live now?
How do you think your friends would define your style?

Femme Embodiments

We are seeking a diverse range of femme identities, such as those with non-normative / counter normative sexual orientations, immigrants and undocumented folks, people of size, people of color, people with disabilities, nonbinary folks, people of trans experience, people from working class backgrounds, people of faith who wear religious garments, and more, for our next installment of Femme Embodiments of the Other.

Can you describe a time when you experienced discrimination due to your gender presentation or physical appearance?

Plus Size Crushes

Qwear is teaming up with queer body positive advocate Alysse Dalessandro for a 'Qwear Crushes' article which highlights ONLY LGBTQIA+ plus size size style! To our knowledge, this would be the first round-up style article in the world that focuses exclusively on plus size LGBTQIA+ fashion. Our goal is to highlight a diverse range of LGBTQIA+ plus size identities including those with non-normative / counter normative sexual orientations, immigrants and undocumented folks, people on the larger end of the plus size spectrum, people of color, people with disabilities, nonbinary folks, people of trans experience, people from working class backgrounds, people of faith who wear religious garments, and more. If you would like to participate, please email us (info@qwearfashion.com): 1. 3 photos of your style (as high res as possible) 2. A short bio in 3rd person 3. Links to your website or social media 4. The answer to these questions: Where do you shop? How would you describe your style?

Image Guidelines

TYPE

Photographs must be sent in JPGs as attachments. Please title images with the name of your piece and numbered in the order that they appear in the piece. (Ex. "My piece 1.jpg")

SIZE

Images must be a minimum width of 1500 px and a minimum resolution of 150 DPI. 

PHOTO CREDIT

Please include photographer credit, including the photographer's website, if they have one. If you are using photos that are not your own, please find the source of the image and include it in the caption.

CONTENT

Images must not include any drug use or tobacco products.

CAPTIONS

If your images include captions, enter them in the body of the email with the image number and caption.
