How To Wear: Vacation/Poolside Favorites
Hello again Qwears and welcome back to How To Wear: the photo series aimed at providing style inspiration for fashion-forward folks. We couldn't let the summer pass us by without giving some ideas on vacation/poolside favorites. Step outside of the box and have as much fun with your outfit as you will in the summer sun!
For my vacation outfit, I stayed true to my overall aesthetic with a splash of color to add a little fun! The inspiration came from my belt and shoes and I built the rest of the outfit around those items.
The poolside outfit was perfect for spending the day in the sun! Light colors and fabrics made for a comfortable ensemble that could be functional and fashionable at the same time!
Anything goes when it comes to vacation/pool wear so have fun with it! Experiment with colors and different fabric choices that will keep you cool and comfortable so your focus can be on having a good time!
In my vacation outfit, I like to call it my Jet set. I'm comfortable for the plane ride and stylish so when I do land I can get right started with the fun. For the poolside, I stuck with my sporty side. I can swim and be cute without any worries of my top falling off.
My tip for your vacation + poolside faves is to fun with what you wear. Wear what makes you comfortable. If you got it (body), show it off. If you don't, still flaunt it.
What I'm wearing:
For me when putting together an outfit for exploring on a hot vacation day it's important to have the best of both worlds. I get hot quickly and sweat like crazy so if I'm exploring I need something like and flexible on top. A vintage T is a great way to be comfortable but still put together. It's a great time to be alive when an "old" t shirt is considered fashion! Paired with a little more upscale short it makes the outfit acceptable in nicer scenes like museums or bars/restaurants.
Being by the pool is all about keeping cool while dressed but still able to hop in if staying cool doesn't work! The shorter shorts trend in men's fashion has been a blessing to my 5'6" stature! Prep fit board shorts are great because they allow the androgynous look, but still let the legs get tan! The bright tank and flops are always fun on a summer day, and matching the top and accessories helps pull the entire outfit together even though all the colors when looked at separately wouldn't seem to be a good match.
My tip would be to think versatile, want to be presentable for whatever situation you find yourself in, but still comfortable and functional! For pool party attire, always be pool ready of course, but still bright and summery while minimizing bad tan lines!
