Blake Freshens up with Topman

Blake Freshens up with Topman

It’s heating up down here in Virginia, which is my cue to start freshening up my outfits.

Generally I wear the same shirts and trousers from season to season, but it never hurts to add some seersucker and lightweight knits into the mix. Our sponsor Topman generously sent me a few pieces to aid in the summer closet turnover.

Topman Blue over dyed seersucker blazer / Brooks Brothers blue and white seersucker button down / Brooks Brothers orange linen and cotton pants / Brooks Brothers Belt

I styled this blazer with a blue and white seersucker shirt, and orange linen pants. The blazer has classic, prep styling with modern touches like a narrow lapel. I will say that the fit is extremely slim and it buttons higher up than your typical blazer (I don’t mind the button placement, but it’s worth noting). Overall a great garment. Definitely apt for a Virginia summer.

Topman Marled grey v-neck sweater / Stafford White oxford bottom down / Topman slim blue dotted tie

Warm weather in Virginia means you take your sweater off and put it around your neck. I’ve paired the Topman pieces with a white oxford shirt, plain khaki chinos, and Jack Purcell sneakers. The sweater is the perfect thickness for a crossover fall-summer piece. It’s comfortable for layering under a blazer as well as great to keep the chill off inside over-airconditioned buildings in the summer.

I paired this outfit to show the tie’s versatility. A statement piece on it’s own, but great as a compliment to other pieces. The sweater is the same make as the grey marled sweater pictured in the last outfit, just a different color. However, it’s a green I don’t see often. If you look closely it’s got small, almost unnoticeable black streaks woven into it. The contrast of the black and green add depth to the garment. It’a a must-have addition to your fall wardrobe. Both the grey sweater and this one fit true to size, maybe a bit slimmer.

Topman Casino Socks

And for the final touch: Topman casino green deck of cards socks
These are just plain fun. Wear them with anything and they’ll do the rest. My only drawback with the socks is that they fit pretty tight. Not sure why, but they make take a couple of wears to get your desired fit.
