Back to Drag: Transforming Uncertainty into Creative Power

Born in a thunderstorm as a nordic viking princess far from home, an idea was given a vessel and the opportunity to emerge as a performative body into a new world it hadn't seen or known before.

Leaving a man, and well known structures behind, putting mind, body, and soul, on an alternate journey, being surrounded by outstanding creatures. Experiencing cohesion of yet another level of kindness and love. Following one and the same powerful but ephemeral purpose: creation. A new journey towards inner acceptance and acknowledgment, and the craving for its artistic expression. A journey and travel that was closely connected to physical displacement, new discoveries and encounters guided by curiosity as well as the fact of not bearing the weight of history.

Its result: Fräulein Helga Pelvis.

One year has passed since then. The current isolation has made most unexpected encounters and the exchange of physical closeness almost impossible and has shifted important and enriching confrontations onto our screens, giving virtual realities new importance. Although we all miss a gentle touch, here is what we've come up with behind closed doors, transforming uncertainty into creative power. Inspired by the well known character of vivacious, outgoing and bold Marie Antoinette, last standing queen of France — famous for her taste in wild parties and extravagant fashions, most likely experiencing her very own and specific isolation since the day she was born into a role she didn't choose to be in. Not much is historically known about her life, but nevertheless, very voluptuous fantasies surround her personality, and have been an inspiration for many artists. Enjoy the ride!
