Dear Trans Youth,

Your brain has wings that will let you fly

Dress in your favorite outfit and dance to your favorite song. 

YOU are a miracle. 

YOU are extraordinary.

YOU are a survivor. 

We love you.

Even the parts of yourself that you haven’t learned how to love yet.

We believe you.

That you are the gender you say you are, that you need the care you need.

We see you 

As the way you see yourself, not the dysphoric image in the mirror 

We guarantee you:

You are 100% smarter than you think you are.

Yes, even if you got a D on a test.

Even if your parents punished you. 

Even if your friend is mad at you. 

Even if you feel like you hate yourself.

WE love you.

Your only job right now is to keep living, keep being yourself, and keep sharing your voice. Do not go silent. Your voice matters. We don’t care if you don’t have all the words yet. We don’t care if you can back up your claims with statistics. Your experience is the only evidence you need. 

YOU are an expert on your own life. YOU are the expert on your body. You never ever have to do anything with your body that anyone tells you to. Even if they are an authority figure. Just say no, loudly and often.
